School Liaison - Student Support
Administrator of Social Services
CLASS SUMMARY: Under general direction, incumbent(s) serves as a liaison between the school and the parents and families of the District by assisting with the implementation of the selected parent engagement program and addressing opportunities and challenges regarding the needs of the parents and families.
Serves as a liaison between the school and the parent and families of the school. Contacts parents to encourage parental engagement with school curriculum and activities. Provides information to parents and families in order to improve home-school communication.
Sends and gathers information to parents by acquiring parent e-mail addresses, creating database of parent e-mail addresses, and entering information into database. Provides information from school staff, PTO, site council, professional development team, and other related committees to parents. Analyzes parents concerns and/or reponses and distributes to appropriate school member or committee.
Facilitates meetings with parents to encourage student success and parent participation and to provide school needs, activities, functions and other school related information. Attends District, school and community meetings and workshops related to parent engagement.
Works with the Administrator of Social Services to prepare progress reports and provide information to the District. Collaborates with parent involment coordinators and the school administrator to investigate complaints from parents, families and the community.
