    With general direction, the incumbent will set and carry out the goals of the District’s English Language Learner (ELL) programs.

    Essential Functions:
    Climate and Culture:
    • Facilitates development, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide behavioral plan.
    • Assist with providing Tier I, II, and III examples and demonstrations as it relates to the district-wide behavioral plan.
    • Assists schools with their 90-day action plan targeting improvement to climate and culture.
    • Disaggregates and analyzes district discipline data and oversees next steps to address data.
    • Oversee the behavior support advocate (support staff at each school) delivery model including providing professional development, completing walk-throughs, and evaluating program and assisting with the hiring of the positions.
    • Acts as a liaison for the district to support climate and culture by researching successful models, addressing trends, and providing continuous professional development.
    • Completes program implementation analysis and provides reports to district teams.
    • Conducts teacher observations and walk-throughs and provides feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth specific to behavioral management.
    • Coordinates district climate and culture committee. Collaborates with all district teams to focus on positive climate and culture within the district.
    • Coordinate all athletics such as scheduling of practices/events and locations, arranging for referees and buses, maintaining equipment and uniforms, and organizing proper supervision at events.
    • Collaborates with schools to establish district-wide code of conduct and ensures the enforcement of the code of conduct.
    • Oversees the tax credit initiative to support and sustain the district athletics programs.
    • Provides professional development regarding effective athletics programs.
    • Develops standards and guidelines for the district athletics programs.
    • Oversee PE program
    • Events facilitation and media / advertising
    • Coordinates calendar of practices and events with other district-wide and school-based events.
    • Oversees and maintains the athletics budget.
    • Performs program evaluation and makes recommendations specific to the athletics program.
    • Assists the Special Areas Coordinator with the implementation and monitoring of the physical education program.
    • Coaches and mentors individual teachers who request or require assistance with instructional strategies, classroom management, and lesson design to accomplish the objectives established for the physical education program.
    • Develops quarterly plan for professional development on the physical education programs based on most recent data for all stakeholders. Acts as project manager to ensure individuals, schools and the District have their professional development needs met.

    Required Qualifications:

    To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. In addition, verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
    • Bachelor’s degree in education;
    • Three years of teaching experience;
    • Valid teacher certificate;
    • Experience with either or both climate and culture (behavior) and/or athletics.
    • Valid Arizona Department of Transportation driver’s license.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
    • Master’s degree in education;
    • One year of providing professional development experience.

    • Making independent decisions;
    • Composing, writing and editing reports and other correspondence;
    • Knowing local, state, and federal guidelines governing area of assignment;
    • Creating and delivering presentations;
    • Promoting positive public relations;
    • Using computer software related programs, including Microsoft Office applications;
    • Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
